Pipestem Resort State Park

Isn't this a beautiful view? Fred and I have escaped for the weekend to Pipestem in West Virginia. This is the view from outside our balcony this morning. The weather is mild and there is a fog rising from a stream in the gorge below us. A flock os Canadian geese flew over and I do love the sound of their "honking" in early morning and at dusk.
We did a little site seeing yesterday with me getting pictures of numerous quilt barns in the area, and Fred getting pictures o

...well....cemeteries. His genealogy hobby follow us everywhere, kind of like me looking for quilt shops. I have not found any quilt shops yet....but we have two more cemeteries to check out today.

This is my first post with my iPad, a learning curve needed for sure.
I hate to see google reader is shutting down. Have any of you found a replacement yet?

Lovely photos. Our son and DIL and grandson live in WV - so we love to see pictures of the area. When we went back there for a visit we found many barns with the wooden quilts on them, and even one town had them on their downtown buildings.

I use bloglines.com- it is super each to use and lets you categorize blogs if you care to.

Hi Theresa..Your email does not seem to work for me...so I am sending you a comment. I bought my 8900 from Sew Vac in Texas as part of the Quilt Con promotional for 1699. They may have one left..ask for Stephen if you want. It is the best machine I have ever had...love it so. Im way over Bernina and their expensive feet. Janome feet are usually interchangeable and at a modest price. Hope you are enjoying your vacation..looks wonderful.

I don't know what is expected to happen with a shut down. I guess change is the only thing that remains constant these days. Even "improvements" we are forced to accept are not always for the better or easier. Sigh!

How nice to have a getaway. It looks pretty!

No worries about Google Reader going away! I've never used it and don't understand why people are concerned. Just click on the Atom RSS Feed at the bottom of every blog's front page, and voila... you get every single blog post in your email in box. In fact, the posts don't come into the main part of the email in box, but in another special section at the bottom of your email box. I love, love, love this as I never have to go looking for ANY of the 90-some blogs to which I subscribe. Try it! Atom RSS Feed. It's just too darned easy!
