I am going to be teaching a class in Cathedral Window quilts in the fall using a technique I have developed where everything is done on the machine, except sewing the window inserts, which I still enjoy doing by hand. I needed to start a class sample to teach with, and I had planned to just do a small wall hanging size, but that did not last for long. So here is what I have come up with - what do you think of this design. For now, I am calling it Flower Garden Cathedral Window, but that will change with time. All the inserts in the green blocks will be floral. Then a border of sunshine blocks, with yellow floral inserts surrounded by blue sky blocks with the yellow sunshine for inserts. This is an EQ6 drawing of what I have in mind. The quilt will measure 80" x 89" when done, just a tad bigger than what you normally hang on the wall, LOL. If you are interested, I do have this technique out in a copyrighted pattern that sells for $8 - if you want one, send me an email and I will give you mailing information for your payment.
Thanks for stopping by!
I think your quilt looks great. Isn't it funny how some quilts just grow and grow. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteHugs Mary.
It looks great! If you really want to do a wall hanging, I would think you could scale it down a bit and it would still work.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt will be fabulous! I really love the effect with the border.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is going to be beautiful - and only a little big for a wall quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks very ambitious, and yet by machine... very "do-able". Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! I love that. I've always loved this pattern.
ReplyDeleteHey, monma! I love the one you've already made!! The colors really pop in it. The one you've just designed is very pretty too! The computer-designed one doesn't do the actual product any justice! Can't wait to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeletelove you!
